Every word has been carefully curated to use correct Australian spelling (colour, organise, centre) and vetted against the Australian Hunspell dictionary. Green level now covers 6,700+ foundational words, Orange 12,600+, and Red 16,500+. We've migrated all audio files to a high-performance delivery system so pronunciation plays instantly — no buffering, no delays. Every word is recorded with a natural Australian accent at a clear, measured pace: you hear the word, then an example sentence, then the word again. This format mirrors real spelling bee competition conditions and helps students connect the sound to the spelling. The audio system now also automatically falls back to browser speech synthesis if a file isn't available, so practice is never interrupted.

Spelling practice is more fun together. Hot Seat Mode lets a group share one device — each player takes a turn in the hot seat, hears a word, and types their answer before passing it on.
